I appreciate the additional opportunity to share via the discourse platform in addition to verbal comments within the workgroup meeting. Adding this additional method of commenting ensures more voices are heard and perspectives shared. Thank you!

Thanks for the outstanding welcome, grounding, recap, and reminder of the background, purpose, where we’ve been and where we’re going. This ‘discourse’ platform I feel will be very helpful for receiving feedback and supporting discussion, consensus, and holding positive space for divergent viewpoints.

As we think about creating an educational setting that is inclusive and equitable such as including books that represent their communities, address parents concern (e.g., racism), where children feel safe and more than educational needs are met, we need to remember the need to provide PD for teachers and administrators around anti-racist practices, how to these relate to healthy development, and provide time for teachers to reflect on their own bias and how these might impact their teaching and treatment of children.

I co-authored a short blog for parents on strategies to support families in promoting home language. I am happy to share if that is okay. The blog is available in English & Spanish.

I concur with your statement and I would also like to add that in addition to reflecting upon how these biases impact their teaching practices, but also helpful strategies to address their own implicit bias that each educator brings to their school community to ensure their teaching practices are equitable to all children.

Discourse was a great way to continue to participate and be able to step back to let others share their thoughts. I think having a reminder about discourse throughout the meeting available for the public to follow along with the behind-the-seen comments would be helpful.

The agenda was clear, and as part of the workforces in childcare provider. AS an FCC, how can the State help us to enquire education in early child Education, teaching, or psychology so we do not lose our business? I personally sence the urgency for being proactive before i am left behind and close my business. I hope this bring Legislatures attentions and we can get help in this area. I suggest getting help in paying for College classes, or even a discount since most of us will not qualify fir grants. Thank you so much
